"How To Make
$10,000.00 Per Month With Article Marketing?"
Find out how to make four or
five figures online working just a few hours per day...
This is an
amazing interview I did with 'Captain' Tim Gorman, article
Marketing 'Top Expert'
You
are going to discover a LOT of article marketing secrets that you can
apply to your affiliate business here. I did this interview for paid
members of my APM Club, and today, I decided to make it available to
the public...
Question 1.
FS: At the moment,
you are ranked top ezine author at the top article directory website on
the web (out of thousands upon thousands of authors from all other the
world) with 1,446
Articles and thousands of views. Tha's is really impressive.
The first question
I'd like to ask you is what is your online
business model? Is your business centered around article
marketing?
TG: My online
business model is actually based upon 7 income generating components. I
currently have 5 income sources generating income with the other 2
sources to follow later this year. They include the following:
1
– Adsense Sites
2
– Flipping Websites
3
– Selling PLR I have Revamped
4
– Selling My Own Products
5
– Personal Consultation
6
– Membership Sites
7
– Seminars
Although I
do use a variety of traffic generation methods I have found that
article marketing has generated the best returns for me on a
consistent basis. There have been times when I haven’t worked
on my
Internet business for weeks at a time (due to military
commitments) and yet my income
either stayed the same or increased.
FS: Yeah,
article marketing is one of the best way to adverte your business on
the Internet. Those articles bring visitors to your website for years
to come, and you couldn't stop this traffic if you wanted to. Every
affiliate should submit articles to directories.
Question 2.
FS: When did you
start Internet marketing? And what was your initial investment in your
online business?
I actually
started Internet Marketing indirectly in order to save money
on my telephone bill. Because I’m a full time member of the
military (Army) I have a tendency to move every few years based on job
relocations.
My
wife had a strong desire to stay in contact with her family and friends
using the phone which resulted in a high monthly phone
bill. In order to cut my
costs I did some online searches and found a company at the time called
Cognigen which allowed a way to save on various telecommunication
products to include monthly long distance.
I was just
about to join their service
when I noticed something that mentioned make money by using and selling
their services as an affiliate. After doing some additional research I
signed
up and became my very own first customer. I found that I could make
money by
recommending their products and services to other people wanting to
save money on their telecom needs.
I then
started researching everything I could about making money online which
led me to Google’s Adsense program. I joined it and
initially started making a little bit of money before I finally
developed my own traffic generation methods using what I called an
“Article
Blitz”. This method quickly propelled my online earnings into
the 4 and 5 figure a month
range.
I’ve
basically stuck to the same strategy and have now
expanded to flipping websites, selling PLR products and my own
products. The returns have
been better then expected.
Question 3.
FS: You are
currently working in the army, right? How do you find the
time to write all these articles? Do you outsource them all? I read a
long
time ago (almost one year and a half now) that you were writing 3
articles every single night. Are you still following this tough
schedule?
TG:
Yes, I’ve been in the Army for over 19 years and am currently
a Major working in recruiting. When I initially started writing
articles for my
websites I was focused on getting two of my websites making between $3
- $5 a
day. I was able to accomplish this within a couple of months. Once
those sites started making money I started outsourcing my article
writing
requirements.I think I initially wrote my first 350 articles.
Believe it
or not, article writing is like most anything in that the
more you do the better you become. I can honestly tell you that I have
wrote upwards of 10 articles in a single evening. After writing about a
subject for so long you can almost write a quality article within 20
– 30
minutes provided you are completely focused on accomplishing that
particular article.
With that
said, I don’t shy away from outsourcing some of my
article writing. I have found several competent services and some very
good
article writers that I trust to craft a quality article that meets my
specifications.
FS: This is a great
tip, article marketing can take all your precious time, and it is very
important that you start to outsource one you are able to afford it.
Anyone doing business online should outsource. Affiliates, merchants.
Outsourcing will multiply your income.
Question 4:
FS: You have many
websites. More than the average article marketer. How many websites do
you currently own, and how quickly do you start getting traffic to a
new website?
TG: Right now I have
perhaps 50 sites that are online and currently generating income.
However, I did at one point in time have about 200 websites online
until I had a domain name issue that lost me about 125
of those sites. I actually wrote up a plan to achieve $100,000 online
from
sites that used adsense as the primary monetization model.
I released
that to
all members of the Niche Rockets membership (formerly Keyword
Avalanche). I firmly believe that I would have easily exceeded that
goal had I not
lost so
many of my websites with the domain name issue.
In regards
to traffic, I can have traffic generated to a site within
hours of having it online and can have it making money within 24
– 36
hours. That traffic comes from a variety of sources but
article marketing plays a
huge roll in that process.
FS: That's a lot of
website, and it's too bad to hear about your domain name issue. As for
newbies, just start with a single site. Once it's making you $200,
$300, start your second site...
Question 5.
FS: When you launch
a new website, how long does it take to see any income from it?
TG: As mentioned in
question 4, I can have a website making money in less then 36 hours. I
think this is important to someone that is new and
trying to make money online for the first time.
That
initial success makes us
feel good and provides a strong incentive to continue to grind out the
long hours needed to initially start an online business because it
validates that
you can make money online.
FS: exactly, I
coached many beginners and I found that once they make their first
online sale, it boost their self confidence, and they start to see the
big picture. After the first sale, everything become easier.
Question 6.
FS. Do you have a
website that produce more income than the others?
TG: Naturally, with
so many websites in a number of niches I do have some sites that do
better then others. I can tell you that some niches such
as insurance, debt relief, credit reports, acne and contact lenses do
very
well but I think that’s pretty common knowledge.
However,
what
some folks may not be aware of is that niches like elliptical trainers,
treadmills,
sunglasses, plus size clothing and bedbugs can outperform many of the
higher paying niches.
Once you
figure out how to dominate the obscure niches you can make websites
that create a consistent stream of income that pays fairly well. I
actually do reveal many of my websites in the Niche Rockets
forum because I know that it does help to have a reference point such
as a
visual aid when talking about niches that can or cannot make you money.
FS.
Awesome, take notes folks, because these niches can make you several
thousand dollars per month if you are serious.
Question
7.
FS: What is your
current income (coming directly from your article marketing efforts)?
TG: I am a
consistent high 4-figure a month earner and was making a solid 5
figures a month prior to the loss of so many of my domain names.
Here’s an interesting note, I’m actually increasing
my online income as
I cut down on the number of sites I have online because I’m
actually
putting more focus on selling PLR products and my own products which
offer a better ROI when compared to purely adsense income.
FS: Great, focusing
on a couple of sites is always better than having dozens of sites. The
only people who can really do that have big advertising budget and a
full team of people working for them. Newbies are not aware of that...
Please
keep in mind that I make 4 figures a month just from working this part
time. There’s no doubt in my mind that once I retire
from the military I’ll easily be able to make upwards of
$50,000 or more a
month from my online business because I’ll be able to spend
12 hours or
more a day working on my business instead of the 2 – 3 hours
I currently spend
each night.
FS: Once
you have a proven plan, all you need to do is to make sure that you
follow it. A plan is important because you know where you are at with
your online business...
Question 8.
FS: I noticed that
you primary link to your adsense websites in your bio box. You also
have an affiliate website. Can you tell us more about your experience
with affiliate marketing?
TG: Initially all of
my income was generated from adsense but then I gradually started
shifting towards affiliate marketing. I do very well
with certain niche topics like contact lenses, debt relief loans,
insurance
leads, bed bug prevention products, elliptical trainers, treadmills and
some
other niches that I have affiliate banners and links in order to sell
products.
Now,
I’m doing extremely well with PLR products because the
ROI is extremely lucrative. For example I initially make all of my
sites with
the objective of obtaining $3 - $5 a day from adsense which means a 3
day average should be between $9 - $15.
Let’s
assume I sell a PLR
product that I have modified and improved upon for $17. In this example
if I sell 1
product every 3 days I’m actually ahead of my adsense
objectives by
$2 or more. It gets even better if you sell more then one copy of the
product in that
3 day
time span.
Question 9.
FS: You are in many
niches! I saw anything from Golf to stop smoking,
beauty
and affiliate marketing. How many niches are you currently promoting
products in?
TG: I’m
currently in well over 50 niches but I have data on the
earning power of over 200 niches. I actually shared some of this data
with Niche
Rocket members in order to help them better understand which niches
paid well
and which they should pass on in the event they were targeting adsense
as a monetization model.
I use a
different method to my market research that
is similar to the Wendy’s vs McDonald’s
story.
Basically Wendy’s forgo spending money on researching where
to build their hamburger stores. Instead they simply built them near
McDonalds because they knew that they had already done the research for
them.
I use a
similar approach when it comes to researching which niches
I’m initially interested in making a
site for….perhaps I’ll explain that in detail in
some future product I release.
FS: As they say...
why reinventing the wheel? If you see something that's already working,
just replicate the process, and it will also work for you.
Question
10.
FS: Do you use other
article sites beside ezinearticles.com? And does ezinearticles.com
outperform all the other article directories?
TG: There is no
doubt in my mind that ezinearticles.com does outperform any other
article directory. However, I do on occasion mass submit
articles and am now refining a list of 10 – 15 preferred
article
directories that I plan to submit to on a regular basis. In fact,
I’ve included a
quick snapshot of my ezinearticles.com activity so you can see just how
much traffic can be generated from 1446 live articles.
It's really impressive. That's more than 2 millions views for 1,446.
And you got more than 100,000 visitors to your site. This is awesome.
Plus
your articles have been picked by more than 35K webmasters and/or ezine
publishers. That's an average of 78 clicks per articles.
And this
is without taking in consideration the additional search engine traffic.
FS: Great job! I
think that now everybody understand the REAL power of article marketing.
Note: The
tracking feature at ezinearticles.com was added in june 2007. All the
click you
see above started after this date. That's more than 100,000 clicks in
only 10 months. Imagine what you would have pay with adwords for 10K
clicks...
Question 11.
FS: How do
you build all these websites? Do you have a software like xsitepro? How
long does it take to build a site like yours?
TG: I’ve
never personally used xsitepro but have heard good
things about it. I normally use SEO WSB by Dr. Andy Williams. The
software is fantastic
and once you have a few custom templates it makes building sites a
breeze.
With the right material on hand (graphics, articles…etc) I
can
build a money making site in about 30 – 45 minutes.
FS: when you have
the right software, it becomes easy to crank up websites in just a few
minutes. My affiliate profit mentor club members like the design
dashboard, it's the one I recommend. One of my students built a site in
less than 24H and it was his first one.
Question
12:
FS: I also notices
that you don't capture your visitors email address.
Aren't you building a list of subscribers?
TG: That’s
correct, although I am now getting ready to start that
process. I never really concerned myself with building a list but
having become
more wiser and better educated I see the merits in having a healthy
responsive list and am making plans to do this crucial task in order to
increase the
profit potential of my online business.
FS: This is amazing.
You were already doing five figures monthly without a list. Did you
hear that? With a list of loyal subscribers, you an multiply your
income pretty fast. I recommend to everyone to start with a list right
from the start.
Question
13.
FS: Tell us about
private label right. I didn't have time to study your
work on this topic, but according to what I've seen, you seem to be an
expert in this domain as well. What are you doing exactly, do you have
a membership site or anything like that?
TG: I
don’t know if I would say I’m an expert. I am
doing very well with PLR products right now and the income generation
possibilities are almost endless. It’s a very fun and
lucrative alternative to adsense
so I highly recommend exploring how PLR products can enhance
anyone’s
online business. I actually did release a well received original
product that
covers where I find PLR and how I make money with it. The
website is located at
http://www.netsenseplr.com
Question
14.
FS: How do you track
your article marketing efforts? Do you use Google Analytics or any
other software?
TG: You’re
going to love this answer, I actually don’t
really track anything other then how many page views my articles are
getting and how much income is being generated by each website I build.
I've never been a
stats guy and with my time being so limited I decided to just focus on
building money making sites. It has seemed to work out well for me over
the long haul.
FS: Well again, I
didn't expect this reply, it's the first time I see a five figure
marketers who isn't tracking his marketing efforts. I think you should
track everything... from your web page visitors to who click your
emails and buy your products.
Question
15.
FS: Let's talk about
seo... How many articles do you need to submit to have 3000 visitors a
month for example? And do you get significant increase in rankings when
you submit your articles?
TG: This question is
difficult to answer because it really boils down to
several factors which include how popular the niche topic is you plan
to write
the article on, how well you write the actual article, how well you
write
your resource box and how/where you submit the actual article once
completed.
The fact
is, article writing is a science much like SEO is and if done
properly, it can generate tons of sustainable traffic month in and
month out.
What I can tell you is that it does appear to take more submitted
articles to
actually get a site into a mode where it regularly makes you
money.
In regards
to rankings, I use to follow where my sites ranked but now I honestly
don’t fret over it to much because at the end of the
day my submitted articles are what is driving traffic to my site and
some of
my best producing sites in terms of online generated income are nowhere
to be
found in the search engines. I actually kind of like it that
way because then
I don’t have to worry about people finding my sites by
performing a search with
the
hopes of reverse engineering what I’ve done to get them
ranked.
Question
16.
FS: If you could
only give three article
marketing secrets to my members now, what would they be?
TG: Sure.
Secret #1 –
When submitting an article always use deep linking to
your websites.
If
you’re not sure what that is then start doing your
research because it does make a difference in how well your websites
does in terms of income generation.
Secret #2 –
The key ingredients for a successful article start with
the title and end with the resource box. You must have a long tail
keyword title, your article should be anywhere from 350 words to 500
words and contain your keyword phrase a total of 2-3 times.
Your
resource box must have a call
to action statement that gives your reader no choice but to click on
the
link in order to get back to your website.
Secret #3 –
When putting the links in your resource box always
include the standard html link along with the keyword rich anchor text
links.
For
example (http://www.netsenseplr.com) This way if someone cuts and
pastes your article on their website if the other links
aren’t live
for some reason, you still have this link providing exposure in the
event someone wants
to visit your site.
FS: Thank you Tim, I
think my members will enjoy of the secrets you gave here. Everything
you read can be applied to affiliate marketing and increase your income.
