"Why Cloaking Your Affiliate Links Makes You More Money?"

"Cloak Your Affiliate Links Today And Watch A Whopping 25% Increase In Your Revenue!"

While Affiliate marketing is often seen as the “easy online business model”, hundreds of wanna be affiliate are are just breaking heaven, and they are happy if they earn $100 at the end of the month.

Those affiliates are failing for several reasons, and one of them is that they are not cloaking their affiliate links. You may know it or not, but leaving your affiliate links without protecting them is a lose of money.

Cloaking your affiliate links is a little know way to earn more money as an affiliate, and we will see the different reasons...

Link cloaking is not an obligation, however I highly recommend that you learn how to do it properly.

Why you need to cloak your affiliate links?

The first reason why you need to cloak is to prevent Link hijacking.

Many savvy (or call them black hat) affiliates and Internet marketers will not buy through your affiliate link and give you the commission while they can get it for themselves.

He will just have a look at the source code of your affiliate page, and will replace your ID with his own, thus earning a commission... YOUR commission!

Disabling the right click option on your affiliate page will not be enough. It will stop new marketers to the game, but advanced know exactly what to do to earn more commissions.

Your uncloaked and naked affiliate link can be found in:

  • The browser's address bar
  • The browser's status bar
  • On your web page (He just need to view the source code from his browser)

The second reason is that you want to prevent link bypassing

Believe it or not, most of the time, your website's visitors will remove your affiliates links, or just tape the merchant url in their browser. They will do it simply because they can stand the fact that you receive a commission on their purchase.

While the two 'menaces' above are real, it will not happen very often in non Internet marketing niches since people don't know how to recognize an affiliate link... yet.

Many of them don't even know how to recognize an adsense ad, however, more and more people are becoming savvy web users, and you should prepare yourself.

It's up to you to cloak your affiliate links. Some people cloak themselves (php, framed redirect) and others use softwares. Find how you can cloak (protect) your affiliate links easily in our advanced affiliate marketing articles section.
